Magistrate Chris Ogai ordered that Odah be remanded in custody for two weeks, saying he and others, who are currently at large, allegedly conspired on the 19th of last month at Effium.
According to the court, the alleged remarks contributed to a communal clash that resulted in Nwode’s death.
The Magistrate said the alleged offences are punishable under Section 516A of the Ebonyi State Criminal Code Law, Cap 33 of 2009.
He assured that the court would handle the matter diligently to ensure that justice is served.
The case comes against the backdrop of a long-running communal conflict in Effium that has claimed lives and led to the destruction of homes and property over the years.
Despite efforts by successive and incumbent administrations in Ebonyi State to end the crisis, tensions in the area have persisted, leaving communities grappling with the consequences of repeated violence.
