Troops Smash Terror Network in Kaduna, Arrest Wanted Kingpin, Female Ammunition Courier

A major blow has been dealt to a terrorist network operating in Kaduna State, with troops arresting a wanted kingpin, a female ammunition courier and a suspected logistics supplier in separate operations.

The arrests followed coordinated operations by troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, across Kubau, Igabi and Birnin Gwari Local Government Areas.

According to the Task Force Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, troops stormed a known terrorist hideout at Dabar Dabo in Kubau in the early hours of September 9, 2026, where they captured a high-profile terrorist kingpin and two members of his criminal syndicate.

In another operation in Igabi, troops intercepted a 50-year-old woman allegedly serving as an ammunition courier.

She was reportedly carrying 300 rounds of live ammunition, concealed inside a bag.

Military intelligence indicated that the suspect had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia to collect the ammunition before taking it to armed groups operating in Birnin Gwari.

The operation also exposed another link in the network when troops, working with local vigilantes in Birnin Gwari, arrested a suspected terrorist logistics supplier.

Four communication devices were recovered from the suspect and are believed to have been used in coordinating criminal activities.

For residents of communities that have endured the fear and disruption associated with terrorist activities, the arrests represent a significant security breakthrough.

The military has commended residents for providing information that is helping security agencies track criminal networks, while urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements.

The suspects and recovered items are currently in military custody as investigations continue.
