Pomp and Pageantry as New LASU VC Resumes Amid Large Crowd
There was pomp, pageantry and excitement at Lagos State University (LASU) on Monday as members of staff turned out in large numbers to welcome the institution’s 10th Substantive Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo, FCASSON, FAPROCON, MNAE, as she officially assumed office.
The university community came alive with songs, dancing, cheers and warm expressions of goodwill as staff members gathered to receive the new Vice-Chancellor, transforming her first day in office into a colourful and memorable celebration.
For many of the staff who came out to welcome her, the gathering was more than a formal reception. It was an expression of hope, goodwill and expectations as LASU begins a new chapter under a new administration.
Amid the excitement and jubilation, the message from the university community was unmistakable: Professor Badejo has been warmly received, and the LASU community is ready to work with her as she takes on the responsibility of leading the institution.
As the Chief Executive and Academic Head of the University, the new Vice-Chancellor assumes office at a time when expectations remain high among staff, students, alumni and other stakeholders who look forward to continued growth, academic excellence and institutional development.
