*‘We Are Here to Win’ — Orji Tells Campaign Team as HOOKE Holds Strategic Meeting*
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia State, Hon. Orji Kanu Emmanuel, has urged members of his campaign organisation to intensify their mobilisation and grassroots engagement, declaring that the campaign is focused on winning the forthcoming election.

Orji made the declaration during a strategic virtual meeting with members of the HOOKE Campaign Organisation on Saturday night, where he commended the team for its commitment and urged members to continue spreading what he described as the message of purposeful, accessible and accountable representation.
“I want to salute you and commend your efforts so far. You are doing a lot. In fact, one of us from Abam has been doing a lot. People are giving us reasons why we should not relent.
“They have told us how they separately want a change for a better and accountable representation in the House of Representatives. So, we are here to win,” Orji told the campaign team.
The HOOKE Campaign Organisation comprises friends, classmates, business associates and other close associates of the ADC candidate who are working to promote his candidacy across the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
Orji began his address by appreciating members for their individual contributions to the campaign, assuring them that he remained the same approachable friend and brother they had known over the years.
He told the team that the campaign should be viewed as a collective project, stressing that a victory for him would also be a victory for everyone involved in the movement.
“If I win, everyone wins,” he said.
The ADC candidate also spoke about the demands of the campaign, including his frequent movements between Lagos, Abia, Abuja and other locations for meetings and engagements.
According to him, the campaign has placed considerable financial, physical and mental demands on him, but the reception from people during his engagements has continued to encourage him.
He cited his recent participation in the New Yam Festival at Akanu Ohafia as one of the engagements that gave him an opportunity to interact with residents and introduce his political vision.
Orji said the visit also enabled him to strengthen relationships with traditional, political and community stakeholders in the constituency.
He expressed gratitude to God for what he described as protection and guidance throughout his various journeys and engagements.
The candidate further highlighted his background in education, private-sector leadership and advocacy, saying his years of experience had prepared him for public service despite being relatively new to partisan politics.
He referenced his leadership role in AFED and his engagements with national and international organisations, as well as his interactions with personalities including Professor Chidi Odinkalu, Dr Yunusa Tanko and Professor Pat Utomi.
According to him, these engagements had broadened his understanding of governance, public policy, leadership and institution-building.
Orji also used the meeting to draw the attention of the campaign team to the content-creation training he is facilitating for youths across the constituency.
*He urged members to mobilise young people to participate in the training, which he said would expose participants to skills that could enable them to earn alternative incomes and pursue remote work opportunities*
“We have brought very seasoned experts for this training. These are people known in and outside Nigeria. Let us mobilise our youths to embrace this opportunity. We are actually on the right path,” he said.
The candidate described his decision to contest the election as an opportunity that should not be taken for granted, urging the HOOKE team to regard itself as the immediate family and engine room of the campaign.
“It is a golden opportunity handed over to me. We should not take it for granted. Let us work harder and ahead. The HOOKE Campaign Organisation is our own immediate family. It is our engine room. We should not relent,” he said.
In his formal address to the organisation, Orji expressed appreciation for the sacrifices of members and appealed for greater commitment as the campaign progresses.
He asked members to deploy their networks, relationships and resources towards expanding the campaign’s reach across the constituency.
According to him, the campaign must establish a strong presence in communities including Ihechiowa, Ututu, Isu, Abam, Ohafia and other parts of the federal constituency.
He also called for greater media visibility, saying efforts were being made to engage major media organisations in Abia State to ensure that the campaign’s activities and message reach a wider audience.
Orji further described members of the organisation as his “eyes and ears” within the constituency, urging them to communicate his message wherever he could not personally reach.
“Where I cannot go, please go on my behalf. Where I cannot speak, please speak for me. Where you meet someone who has not heard about our vision, please tell them.
“Where there is doubt, explain our mission. Where there is discouragement, bring hope,” he told the team.
He also urged members to conduct themselves with dignity, respect and humility, saying the campaign should focus not only on winning an election but also on building lasting relationships with the people.
Orji concluded his address with an appeal for prayers and continued support, saying every contribution to the campaign—whether through a phone call, connection, meeting, prayer or financial support—mattered.
*Campaign Team Reacts*
Members of the HOOKE Campaign Organisation responded positively to the address, with several participants pledging to intensify their individual contributions to the campaign.
QS Festus Ikechi from Arochukwu Kingdom thanked Orji for what he described as a “wonderful speech” and assured him of the team’s continued support.
“I want to thank you, our humble principal, for this wonderful speech. I want to assure you that we are solidly behind you in whatever we can do for you to win,” Ikechi said.
Addressing members of the organisation, Ikechi added: “Whatever you can, please do it. This is the time for us to act.”
Engr. Uchenndu Kalu Orieji from Isu described Orji’s address as impressive, saying he had known the candidate since their primary and secondary school days.
“I have known Orji right from primary and secondary school because he is my classmate. He is a committed man, dogged and focused. Whatever he wants to achieve, he stands his ground to make sure he achieves it,” Orieji said.
He recalled that he was happy when Orji informed him of his intention to contest the election, saying the campaign presented an opportunity for the constituency to support one of its own.
“Over the years, people came from other places seeking for our votes. Today, we have our own person. Frankly, we have a lot to do. We will work as a team, friends, partners and brothers,” he said.
Mazi Stanley Torty from Arochukwu Kingdom also expressed confidence in the campaign, drawing from his personal experience of contesting for student union leadership.
Torty recounted how he faced difficult circumstances during his own election but remained determined because of his belief that he could succeed.
He said the same determination should guide the campaign, while acknowledging that considerable work remained to be done.
“I want to thank everyone here for honouring this meeting. I want to thank our principal. His speech is powerful,” Torty said.
He called for the involvement of more people in the campaign, stressing that members should be willing to point out mistakes and areas requiring improvement.
According to him, constructive criticism would help strengthen the organisation.
“Mazi Orji is our own. If we must succeed, we must be blunt,” he said.
Mazi John Nwankwo from Arochukwu also commended the work done so far but called for greater attention to the media department of the campaign organisation.
“I want to sincerely thank and greet everyone. I want to thank you for the beautiful speech. It has rekindled my hope that you are really in the race, not just to contest but to win,” Nwankwo said.
From Ohafia, Engr. Ikechukwu Ndubuisi pledged his commitment to the campaign and promised to work towards strengthening the candidate’s presence in Ohafia.
“I am very happy with what my principal said. I will deliver Ohafia for him. Let us work in one mind,” he said.
Ndubuisi also called for stronger organisational structures and increased visibility across areas of the constituency.
The meeting began with a prayer led by Chief Oscar Kalu from Isu and ended peacefully with a closing remark by QS Festus Ikechi.
Ikechi urged members to leave the meeting with renewed commitment to spreading the campaign’s message and supporting the organisation’s activities.
Participants joined the virtual meeting from different parts of Nigeria, with the organisers saying the various communities that make up the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency were represented.
The meeting ended with renewed calls for teamwork, grassroots mobilisation, wider media engagement and sustained communication with constituents as the campaign progresses towards the 2027 election.
