The Coordinating Director, Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (LASRERA

The meeting, themed “Importance and Benefits of LASRERA Licence to Real Estate Practitioners in Lagos State,” provided an opportunity for LASRERA to engage practitioners directly on the importance of operating with the appropriate permit and complying with the state’s real estate regulations.
For many Lagos residents looking to rent, buy or manage property, dealing with a recognised real estate practitioner can make a significant difference in the level of confidence they have in a transaction. Akinbola explained that the LASRERA permit helps establish that a practitioner is registered and recognised to operate within the state’s real estate sector.
She noted that having the permit also enhances the credibility and professional reputation of real estate practitioners, giving clients greater confidence when entrusting their properties, money and transactions to them.
Beyond registration, Akinbola said licensed practitioners could benefit from professional development opportunities provided by LASRERA, including upskilling programmes and stakeholder engagement initiatives designed to keep practitioners abreast of developments within the sector.
According to her, the regulatory framework also creates opportunities for real estate practitioners to interact, network, exchange ideas and engage with the Authority on issues affecting their profession.
Akinbola assured practitioners that the Lagos State Government, through LASRERA, would continue to provide platforms for dialogue and stakeholder engagement while promoting initiatives aimed at improving professionalism, compliance and service delivery in the real estate sector.
She stressed that sustained engagement between regulators and practitioners remained important to building a property market where both professionals and members of the public can have greater confidence in real estate transactions.
The high point of the meeting was the presentation of LASRERA permits to members of E.R.C.A.A.N, reinforcing the Authority’s message on the importance of proper registration and compliance among real estate practitioners in Lagos State.
