Dangote Refinery IPO Opens: Nigerians Can Buy Shares From N5,250
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday joined business mogul Aliko Dangote and other dignitaries at the Nigerian Exchange Group in Lagos as the much-anticipated Initial Public Offer (IPO) of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery opened for public subscription.
The ceremony marked a major step in the refinery’s journey, with Nigerians now able to buy shares in one of the country’s biggest industrial investments.
Speaking on the significance of the development, Sanwo-Olu said the listing reinforces Lagos State’s position as a destination where businesses can grow and major investments can take root.
In a post on his official online page, the governor said:
“Today, I joined Alhaji Aliko Dangote at the Nigerian Exchange Group in Lagos for the opening of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO.
“Today reinforces what we are building in Lagos. A city where businesses can grow, a city where investors can find opportunity and a city where major investments can take root. We remain committed to making it easier to do business in our state and strengthening our position as Nigeria’s leading investment destination.
“The listing of the Dangote Refinery, the first refinery to be offered on the Nigerian Exchange in its 66-year history, is another important step for our capital market and our economy.
“Our promise is to continue to create the environment for more investments, more businesses and more opportunities to thrive in Lagos.”

Nigerians Can Invest From N5,250
Beyond the ceremony and the high-profile attendance, the IPO has opened a new opportunity for Nigerians who want to own a stake in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
The shares are being offered at N525 each, while the minimum subscription is 10 shares, putting the entry point at N5,250.
Subscription is being accessed through participating banks.
The IPO opened on September 14, 2026, and will close on October 13, 2026.
For investors, the offer provides an opportunity to become shareholders in a refinery that has become a major symbol of Nigeria’s ambition to expand local refining capacity and strengthen its position in the global energy industry.
For Lagos, Sanwo-Olu said, the listing further demonstrates the importance of creating an environment where investments can flourish and generate more opportunities for businesses and residents.
