New Chapter Opens for Zamfara Civil Servants
A new chapter has begun for civil servants in Zamfara State following the appointment of Alhaji Shehu Baraya as the new Head of the State Civil Service.
Baraya takes over from Alhaji Yakubu Sani Haidara, who recently retired after years of service to the Zamfara State Civil Service.
Governor Dauda Lawal approved the appointment, which takes immediate effect.
Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, announced the development in a statement issued through his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Suleman Ahmad Tudu.
Baraya comes into the position with extensive experience in public administration and a long career within the state civil service.
Before his appointment, he served as Permanent Secretary in several ministries and was the Permanent Secretary of the Zamfara State Civil Service Commission.
Governor Lawal commended the outgoing Head of Service, Haidara, for what he described as his dedication and contributions to the development of the state civil service.
He also wished Haidara a fulfilling and rewarding life in retirement.
For the new Head of Service, Governor Lawal has set clear expectations, charging him to deploy his wealth of experience towards deepening professionalism, strengthening discipline, improving productivity and enhancing efficiency across the civil service.
Baraya’s appointment now places him at the centre of efforts to drive a more effective and productive public service in Zamfara State.
