Tinubu Heads to Europe for Three-Week Vacation as 2027 Political Heat Builds
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will today, August 30, leave Abuja for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave.
The President’s departure comes as political activities are gradually gathering momentum ahead of the January 2027 elections, with political parties and aspirants stepping up preparations for the contest.
According to a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s first destination will be London, United Kingdom.
The statement described the trip as a vacation that will also provide the President an opportunity for a working break before returning to Nigeria.
Tinubu is expected to return at the end of the three-week leave and resume his official engagements, amid increasing political activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
His return is expected to coincide with a period of intensified political mobilisation as parties and political actors position themselves for the coming electoral battle.
